Why We Brought Michele Magner Into The Vibe (And What That Actually Looks Like)
Some partnerships happen because you go looking for them. This one happened because I kept noticing the same gap.
When someone moves into a Dementia Care Home, the conversations that follow are almost never just logistical. Families are carrying a lot. Grief, guilt, relief, fear, sometimes all of those at once. The person moving in is carrying things too, even if they can't always put words to it anymore. And what I've seen, over and over, is that the practical stuff, the medications, the routines, the room setup, tends to get handled. But the emotional and relational pieces, the ones that sit underneath all of that, those often don't have a clear home.
That's where Michele Magner comes in.
Michele is the person behind Inspired Caring, and the short version is this: she works with families navigating caregiving, helping them find footing in situations that feel like there is none. But the longer version is more interesting. Michele isn't a clinician in the traditional sense. She's someone who understands that caregiving affects the whole family system, not just the person receiving care, and that support has to meet people where they actually are, not where it's convenient to help them.
When I first learned about her work, what struck me wasn't a credential or a service list. It was the way she talked about families. With respect. Without a script. In a way that made it clear she had actually sat with people in hard moments and paid attention.
That matters to me more than almost anything else when I'm thinking about who belongs in this building.
At The Vibe, we are small by design. That's not an accident and it's not a limitation. It's the whole point. Small means our Guests aren't managing a rotating cast of unfamiliar faces every day. Small means we can actually know people, not just their care plans. And small means that every person and every partnership we bring in has to actually fit, not just on paper but in practice, in the way they show up and what they believe about the people we're caring for.
Michele fits.
What our partnership with Inspired Caring looks like, in real terms, is still taking shape. That's the honest answer. Some partnerships announce themselves with a big rollout. This one started more quietly, with a shared understanding that families need more than a handoff when their person comes to live here, and that connection, real connection, is something that has to be tended over time.
Families who are navigating a loved one's dementia often arrive at our door already depleted. They've been the primary caregivers, the appointment schedulers, the nighttime worriers. They've been running on adrenaline and love and not much else. And then they make this enormous decision to bring someone here, and sometimes they don't quite know what to do with themselves after that. The role changes but the worry doesn't.
Having someone like Michele available, someone who can work with families on what this transition means for them, what caregiving looks like from here, how to stay connected to their person in meaningful ways, that's not a luxury. It's part of what real care actually requires.
I want to put it plainly: we're working with Michele Magner because I believe she sees families the way we see Guests. As whole people, not problems to be managed. And that's a rare enough thing that when you find it, you hold onto it.
